Talking software, art and SaaS on Betatalks

Nov 25, 2025

I’ve spent a good chunk of my life moving between art and software, which are really not that different. In both cases, you take an idea, bump it into reality, and discover that reality has opinions.

I joined Rick and Oscar on Betatalks the podcast, episode 118, Designing Smarter SaaS Workflows: Rethinking Legacy Constraints. We talked about finding my way from visual arts into engineering, making SaaS software that solves actual problems, and the delicate art of not implementing every feature request that passes through the door.

We also got into document processing, AI, and where these things fit into a user’s existing workflow. A clever technical solution is lovely, but it doesn’t count for much if the people you’re building it for have to bend their work around it.

There was even time for music, nature, and the other stuff that keeps the brain from turning into a backlog.

The episode went public on November 24, 2025.
